Solar powered borehole in Arabsiyo

Throughthe RESTORE project under SomReP and with funding from Sweden in Somalia, we have completed construction of a state-of-the-art solar powered borehole in Arabsiyo, Somaliland. It is complete with water kiosks, animal troughs & 48 m3 elevated water tank.

The construction of the new water system is not only a game-changer, especially for women but a source of joy for the residents. Seeing water running continuously for months has been a dream come true, now they have more time & energy to engage in other productive activities.

We also provided capacity-building training in water system management to community established water management committee that will ensure the investment made in the water point will live on for years and will not be misused or become another white elephant.
